What we collect

We use PostHog to collect anonymous analytics data. This includes:

  • Page-view events (which articles you read)
  • Click events on specific UI elements (article cards, social links)
  • Engagement metrics (time on page, scroll depth)

We do not collect your IP address, record your sessions, or use autocapture. We use localStorage (not cookies) to persist your analytics ID.

When we collect it

We only collect analytics data after you click "Accept" on the consent banner at the bottom of the page. If you decline or ignore the banner, we capture nothing.

Where it goes

Your data is sent to PostHog's EU instance at eu.i.posthog.com. PostHog's servers are located in Germany and are subject to GDPR.

How long we keep it

PostHog retains events for 7 years by default. We do not extend or customize this retention period.

Your rights

You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the "Privacy settings" link in the footer. This opens the consent banner again, where you can change your choice. Clearing your browser's local storage immediately erases your analytics ID.

For data subject requests (access, deletion, portability), email hello@hlibholynskyi.com.

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect:

  • Your name or email address (unless you subscribe to the newsletter via Buttondown — see their privacy policy)
  • Payment information (we don't sell anything)
  • Behavioral profiles for advertising
